Bahamas CruiseA year or two ago I had the chance to sail a yacht on a Bahamas cruise and took the opportunity to take my family with me. A friend needed to move his Catamaran Sailboat from the Caribbean to north of the Hurricane belt before the end of June. He hit on the brilliant idea of doing it for nothing by offering some of his sailing friends a free holiday.
We elected to take the Bahamas leg , flew into Nassau and together with our friends from South Africa picked up the Catamaran there. What a fantastic Bahamas Vacation. Even when the tropical storm hit us it was like standing in the best shower ever! We left the tourist centre of Nassau and sailed to the un spoilt beauty of Pelican Harbour, Hope Town,Green Turtle Quay,across from Little Abaco Island to West End on Grand Bahamas Island and finally to Freeport where we left her reluctantly for the next friend to take her on the next leg to Florida.
