I am a Chartered Civil Engineer turned Professional Yachtsman.

My sailing began at school and my first Yacht Charter was on the Norfolk Broads at the age of fifteen.

Since then I have owned and raced or cruised, boats, in various parts of the world, ranging from Enterprise and Merlin Rocket dinghies to my present Yacht a Beneteau First 44.7.

A few years ago I decided to move back to the UK from South Africa where I was working and take up Sailing full time.

I am now based in Hamble, one of the main Yachting and Boating centres on the South coast of UK, where I run Sailfirst, a Yacht Charter business, as well as carry out Yacht Deliveries of Yachts and Motor Cruisers on behalf of both private and corporate clients.

I also teach sailing, up to RYA Yachtmaster level, and give tuition to new boat owners on handling and sailing their own boats.

All of this has given me the opportunity to experience sailing many types of boats from large Motor cruisers and Catarmarans to Racing Yachts and Cruising Yachts.

It has also taken me to most countries on the Mediterranean, to the Canaries,the Caribbean,the Bahamas, South Africa and the Indian Ocean.
