Flotilla Sailing
Flotilla Sailing offers the less experienced charterer the opportunity to be skipper on his own yacht charter but still have a qualified skipper close by to be in charge and help as necessary.
Flotillas can be any number of similar yachts but usually not more than twelve led by a Lead Skipper and crew who provide an itinery each day with advice on anchorages, moorings at night and where to go and what to see in the area. Flotilla Holidays are particularly popular in the Mediterranean as well as in the Carribean and also Scotland.Many sailors prefer a flotilla holiday because they meet other yacht charterers with similar interests. The charter companies do not require the clients to be as well qualified as they do for a bareboat charter as long as the skipper and crew have some previous sailing experience.
